Ok so my hatching eggs came early. I'm not ready lol. I know I let them set for 12 hours to get to room temperature. They look dirty and it's been suggested to wash them. I'm to scared to do this. Will it hurt them if I dont?

It won't hurt them if you don't wash them. In fact, I never wash eggs, no matter how dirty, because washing them can remove the bloom, the protective layer that keeps bacteria out, and that means you can have more deaths due to bacteria.

I have a styro bator and I don't like the amount of heat that the turners for them give off. They cause one corner of my bator to run significantly hotter and if I have a full turner there's no way to avoid that corner. My eggs in that corner where the motor was showed advanced development then quit. I took out the turner and started hand turning and found that my hatch rate started increasing and the next hatch I had 100%. I turn 3xs a day, 5 if I can get an extra couple in. I think it's more natural than upright. The Hovabtor has a new turner I believe they call it an incuturn that actually rolls the eggs in their natural laying down position versus the upright tilt. It's a personal preference, but I do think it's easier on them and improes hatch rate, but that's my personal opinion. Plus I am a meddler and like fussin' lol

Good luck!
Ahhh that makes sense! Wow! 100% is awesome! Yeah, it probably is more natural. Thanks :)

That makes me feel so much better. I can't remember if someone told me or I read it but I definitely don't want to lol. I've been studying so hard I think my info is starting get jumbled in my brain. Should I let my incubator warm up to temp first or should I set the eggs in and let it warm up.

Let the incubator run first. In fact with it being a brand new incubator it's not a bad idea to let it run for a full 24 hours to make sure it's stable and at the right temp before putting the eggs in.

I don't wash either, and it need to be up and running I start mine a day ahead so I know it's stable

We started the incubator yesterday and I'm glad we did. I wanted to make sure everything was working well. Unfortunately our hygrometer wasn't working. I ordered another but it won't be here until tomorrow. Hope that's not a problem.

:celebrate they don't look very dirty! :) I would not wash them. If they have a couple spots in them I will just take my finger nail and scratch it off. The duck eggs I got locally were filthy!! I still didn't wash them just scraped all the crud off and set them.

No that shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you calibrate it when it comes in the mail. Did you candle and check the air cells?
