Hands on hatching and help

I have a call duck zipping! I've never seen one zip before (I've had to assist) and I can't take my face away from the incubator but I really want to go to sleep! Lol.
X2!!
Enjoy it while you can. That's my philosophy. I was a bad teenager, so I know there comes a point where they won't want to sleep with you anymore and then there's no going back! Snuggle it up while you can!
That's fine. See what happens. I don't think the girls are laying super well this year but I can get some when they do. I think there is pics on my BYC page. From the computer, can't you see pics that the user posted? I can find the pics of the parents, if not.

Can you keep me updated on the zipping Duckling? Please? With Pictures Too?

Good luck with all your hatches byc!

Hey guy's earlier I noticed one of my Ameracaunas had pipped. I don't know when. It's super tiny. Not suprised that no progress has been made. I have noticed that the membrane is turning tan. Should I be worried about this? I haven't heard it chirp yet either...

Tan is A Darker Yellow, if it's tan or yellow it's drying out and needs moisture. At least that is what I have read.

I Think I Have Some Draw Downs!! It's days 18/19. The air cells were on the small size (it's my first/third time) (first 2 didn't work) (first time actually Hatching) Now the Air Cells are bigger. I candled, still movement and Veining, how long does it take for an internal pip to happen after a Draw Down?

Please answer my question.

Ugh so I helped hatch 3 of 4 birds at my hatch a week or so ago.

1 golden died Monday and 1 has a crippled foot. Not sure bout 3rd yet. Have not looked super close.

Is this why people who are hands of choose tone hands off? Or do some helps work out fine?

I ask because we want to breed these chicks not have for pets.

Thanks and good morning.

Are you looking for shipped pea eggs? I might have some soon....
I candle all through hatch to see what's going on and make sure everyone is on a safe time line. But if there are very large pips, with chick & membrane exposed I don't.
Are you kidding!?! These are like the cutest chicks I've ever seen! And usually I only think my chicks are the cutest ever.

btw, how did you get them sooo fluffy? I love them!

I candled my eggs last night, day 17. Appears one of my lavender orpingtons quit within the last day or 2, I'm bummed. I've had quitters after lockdown, and very early quitters, but not at day 16ish!

ETA - did the little zipper finish on his own???

Draw downs "can" happen shortly after lockdown, but can also take a couple of days. It happens gradually. But usually the pips will start within 24 hours after full draw down.

Im pretty sure that some work out fine. From what I've heard the reason they say hands off is some people move in to help to early making things harder for the chicks to hatch. I'm pretty sure it's all very time sensitive. You don't want to be to early or late. I think this will only get better with experience. :) also this forum helps so much. :)
