Morning. I broke some of the shell away and used a q tip with some water to staunch the bleeding the put a light amount of cornstarch on it to keep it from bleeding again. Worked great. I left both in the incubator until 2 am. No progress and they both were starting to look not so good so I peeled away all the shell and pulled down the membrane gently without cutting it. They both were ready and are doing good now. The first one to pip did have a bloody navel and was so weak I didn't know if it would make it. This morning it's like any other chick :)

Lol yes chicken math is real!! I started with 6 chickens and now have about 80 :oops: lol and I have 2 incubators going

We definitely don't keep them all, in fact I think I have about 20 listed for sale now (mostly males) and a few more will be listed once I grow them out a little to see who I want to keep. We use byc buy sell trade forums, Facebook groups, Craigslist, livestock auction and word of mouth to sell our birds.
We were getting a big demand for our table eggs and couldn't keep up with what our customers wanted, so that's what really jump-started our chicken math

We sell about 7-10 dozen table eggs every week. As things went along, we added birds to sell their fertile hatching eggs too although I'm really just getting going with that part

Hey i saw you sell eggs and chicks and everything in between lol. Are their licenses or certifications you need? I've kind of fallen in love with all this and been considering giving it a shot. :)
