Hands on hatching and help

OKAY I HAVE FOUR NOW!! I HAD TO HELP THE LAST ONE DUE TO COMPLICATIONS DUE TO HE WAS IN A ROUND EGG, HE PIPPED INTO THE AIR CELL BEFORE DRAW DOWN AND AFTER I LOOKED CLOSELY HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PIP THE SHELL. HE WAS IN A POSITION TO PIP THE AIR CELL BUT THE POSITION WOULD NOT LET HIM PIP THE SHELL. I GUESS THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE THE EGG WAS ROUND. THE LIGHT GOLD NEXT TO THE RED-BROWN ONE AND THE BLACK ONE IS THE ONE THAT HELPED. THE OTHER GOLD ONE THATS AWAY FROM THEM IS THE ONE THAT HATCHED FROM THE EGG THAT I THOUGHT HAD TWO IN IT. BUT OUT OF A DOZEN EGGS THERE WERE FIVE VIABLE, ONLY FOUR MADE IT, THE FIFTH DIED FOR NO REASON NO PIP NO ABSORTION OF THE YOLK.

Great job! They are adorable.

I have one that didn't draw down, but it still pipped. I actually expected it was already DIS because it wasn't drawing down. I'll see what happens with it when I get home.

My last egg that was good before lock down hasn't hatched. All the others are out and doing great but this last little baby hasn't even pipped. When I removed babies this morning to move to the brooder I candled and I can't even see the air sac. What should I do? Do you think it's dead? I tried tapping the bottom of the egg and there was no sound and I haven't seen any movement coming from it at all.

Congrats! They are cute.

If it's been over 24 hours since the last hatcher, and you can't feel any movement or see into the air cell, I'd wager it's gone. You can tap into the air cell first to double check. I had one in my last hatch that I could see into the air cell up to the time it internally pipped and then everything went black and I couldn't see into the air cell any more. I tapped into the air cell and took off that part of the shell and found the reason I could no longer see was when it internall pipped it pipped straight into a big vein. It still had the membrane with the vein in it's beak and blood all over the beak/nose. Apparently that was why I could no longer see into the air cell cause the blood made it too dark to see.

I personally would make make a hole in the air cell if you can't hear anything. Especially if you know it was alive before. That's just me personally though.
