I was going to say that maybe you can just have a stool sample done but that was already mentioned. I know this sounds kinda crazy but my grandfather has been breeding pigeons for 40 years and he was telling me about another pigeon friend that runs certain samples right from his house for basically nothing. I really wish I could find a chicken person like that around! I took a chicken to the vet once and it cost big bucks and the vet only told me the obvious and gave me some antibiotics. I realized then that with chickens it's going to take a lot guess work based on symptoms and trial & error with different medications/supplements/treatments. But BYC has a ton of threads and very smart people that have seen a lot, maybe make a thread on the sickness/emergency forums (I can't remember the exact name) lol.

Thanks.. He actually had to have MRIs done today and I've been trying to get things done for his party Sat. I. Just finished his cake. I'll share a couple pics, tomorrow since I can't figure out what I am doing on the IPad but don't laugh at my people...lol I am not a people molder, and modeling chocolate and summer heat don't mix.

Ok...some wonderful person on here said they would walk me through my next hatch. Here are my eggs. They came yesterday in the mail.

they been resting on cupboard since 2:00 yesterday.

here's my incubator I plugged it in before I went to bed to get it ready.

So now what?

I think the temp needs to be closer to 99.5. Higher for still air.

So now what?

Your temp is low - if that's forced air you want it at 99.5 degrees. Your humidity is also a little high - I wouldn't go more than 50% during the first 18 days and that might even be high, you'll want to check your air cells and adjust if needed.

Let the eggs rest for a full 24 hours (so until 2 today) and then go ahead and put them in once the incubator is at the right temp.

Have you also checked that your readout on the incubator is correct? I'd double check it against a thermometer you know to be accurate to be sure it's reading correctly.

xs 2 on the heat and humidity, only I run lower- dry when possible, around 30% to start with and monitor air cells. These being shipped though, I might start at 40% depending on how the air cells look. That would be my first question, "How do the air cells look" that would be my determoining factor for when and how I put them in the bator and when I start turning. My silkie eggs were in such good shape when they arrived I only waited 12 hours, put them in the incubator, but didn't turn for 24 hours more. The next day I tilted and then after that they were laid down and hand turned normally. My second question would be the next quote.....

Ok, so I am on my lap top so I can share a couple pics of my cake for my father. Mind you- the people are very cartoonish/amateure....lol The rocks came out fabulous though...lol In person they look absolutely real. My dad is a big kid and likes things like this, so it's appropriet...lol I plan to add some little colorful flowers before the party tomorrow cause it does need a little color.
