Congrats! How's it look, all black? My eggs haven't done anything yet but they're not due til Tuesday. Bet they'll hatch tomorrow though, ACs are usually early.

So I'm worried that my AC hen is holding onto silkie sperm...:( the baby is all black but the tips of each middle toe....and it has feathered legs!!!!! :/ they have not shared a cage with silkies since before christmas! I dont know what to do!!:hit

If it has a single comb then not a Silkie cross... feather stubs have popped up in AC's... this is why it's best to hatch out and cull for a generation or 2 before selling eggs...

X2 on this, sounds like feather stubs. Any clue if the breeder you got the roosters from has it popping up? It's been popping up here since I lost the father of your hens, but never before, so I'm not sure it's coming from your hens and may be from the rooster.

She sold me all her her remaining stock because she wanted to go back to breeding another breed...I can't remember which one though.
