Hands on hatching and help

I don't believe I shared this here, but these are two of my Valentine's chicks:

700

Where is everybody? The thread has been so quiet and I refuse to believe no one is hatching, lol. So, what's everyone got going? I've got various NN crosses, a batch of mixes and spitzhaubens due on Friday, and I'm about to set some spangled OEGB eggs tomorrow.

That is adorable!
My incubator comes today! Can't wait to get it here and get it plugged in. If it's here early enough and I get it staying at temp for a few hours, you know I'm not going to be able to wait. Lol. I'll be loading it tonight...lol If not then definitely tomorrow. I have 20 silkie eggs marked and ready to go in, hopefully I'll get another 4 today to make an even 2 dozen. I already have 3 people waiting to buy chicks, (one wanting eggs) plus I'd like about 4 more girls for my flock. Once this is done, I want to do a hatch to have silkies for sale the week leading up to Easter. Once my girls are back to laying regularly I plan to offer Spitzhauben hatching eggs and will hatch Spitzhaubens upon request.

Oh my goodness what an adorable picture! :love
I'm thinking I must not have posted an update on my last hatch lol... I ended up with 5 Calico bantam Cochins- 1 was a full assist malpo, 3 black Bantam Cochins and 4 Seramas! All the Cochin chicks have already gone to their new homes but the Seramas are staying lol. Here's my little crew:
400

And I had an incubator fail recently so I'm down to one as of today, and in there are my BBS mottled bantam Cochins, BBS Copper Marans and shipped Seramas on day 12 :)

Congrats on the hatchers! Good luck with the others and the bator.

I love that pic too!

Just finished a hatch, finished up with 12 of 15 seramas, 3 of 3 chocolate orps, and 6 of 8 bantam cochins.
The final 3 seramas and 2 cochins were very late DIS, just never pipped. Had it not been such a large hatch, I probably would have intervened with either set, but the seramas were hatching first, then the cochins started, and I didn't check them soon enough to help. But I'm very happy with it. Will post some pics in a bit.
Beautiful!! Congrats.

Better replace that incubator soon ;) :D

That's a good hatch! Congrats!

Oops, almost forgot about the other set going on. Shipped seramas, I need to candle again. I think I have couple quitters. And more cochins from my flock, all doing well.

That last set, the cochins are 2 splash, 1 black, and 3 blues. And the 2 DIS were splash. Was surprised by so many splash. Definitely keeping some of them.

And I'm setting lav orps and OEGBs next! Probably over the weekend.

I want some splash silkies.

@WVduckchick my new 'bator should arrive next week!

I decided to go with an Incuview All-In-One so I'm excited to try it out lol

Awesome! I almost ordered one of those when I found my second used Octagon. Yes, please let us know how it does for you.

I must say I was surprised how well the FI styro did this last hatch. Maintained temp and humidity very well. After I took most of the chicks out, and there were only a couple left, it did drop temp a bit. Thought I might lose that last cochin, but I was able to adjust it.

That is adorable!

My spitz are top of my favorites. They are the most personable, friendliest of all my birds except my mix, Raven. They want to be right there with me, on my shoulder or head, and are just awesome birds. At least the girls. Elvis isn't a people lover. He's not aggressive or anything, just not into being touched or petted...lol They are very loud and vocal though, especially at treat time. And Prissy was a witch when she was broody. Man, she would scream bloody murder if you just walked in the coop and high pitched...ya. But I would highly recommend having a couple. There eggs aren't all that large, but they are sweet and I think pretty. Especially the Silver Spangled.

Oh, and I've seen people that have had real good luck with the FIs and people that had complaints comparative to the LGs. That one has such mixed reviews unlike the digital lgs which are 95% bad or the Brinsea that is 98% good....lol

It's so alert, cute.
If your first hatcher started at 23 days, you want to check your thermometer and temps for accuracy. I see you posted 20 hours ago, so I doubt the question is still relevant, what ended up happening?

So out of 8 eggs I got 3 chick's one up running 2 alive but can't walk have been giving the electrolytes but one died last night the other still not walking it tries to get up but can't if you set it up it just falls not sure what to do

I've seen a few people that used the incuview and really liked them. You'll have to let us know what you think.

I definitely will do that! It seems to have very good reviews so hopefully it works as advertised! :) I was totally planning to buy a Genesis lol but as I was shopping around for the best price I stumbled on the Incuview. I had seen them before and kind of forgot about them lol. I'm really excited to get it and get some eggs going in there!!

I'm glad your styro did well! I've been plugging along with my still air Hovabators for awhile now lol. It will be nice to have all the bells and whistles with the Incuview! I'll let you know how it does, you know I'll have eggs in there pretty quickly after I get it lol.
