Hands on hatching and help

Thank you Pyxis, and good luck!! :)

I candled. Two were internal pips and were cheeping! Two others might have been trying to? And the one with the most messed up aircell...red veins but the color didn't look that good, as nice as the others. I'm not sure how to describe it.

Everyone moved though. :)

Soon...something!! ??

I've got one that just came out. He pipped yesterday around 6:30pm. I have 4 others that externally pipped today. I think I have 6 internally pipped. Four look like goners. Not looking like one of my best hatches, but if I can get 11/15 I guess I'll be happy. A couple of them just look like they couldn't loose enough moisture. I am wondering if those two are from the same hen and she just has thicker shells.

Out of the other 6 that were a week behind, I still have 5 viable.

Friday I plan on setting the next batch. I'm hoping to set another 22 and get higher than low 70's percentile for fertility.

Oh, it looks like that first hatcher is going to be Silver/blue. Nice dark skin, 5 little toes. No vault, but I bet it's going to be adorable. Looks like he will be spending the night in the bator though, cause I don't want to move him by himself to the big ole brooder. Hoping the external pippers make an appearance by morning, and the internals are external.

Kind of pale and faded?
Yay! That's good news. Now don't you feel better? Lol

Quote: Yes! But the veins are still red. It just doesn't look like the others.

So the cheepers have a good chance? I'd hate to get just one...

Awesome hatch you're having! I'd be glad!!

Yeah, I have a couple of those that have been relegated to the I don't think there making it category. The internal pips and the healthy looking ones with activity sounds promising. Hope you have good news by morning!

Help! I just discovered a crack on a duck egg at 18 days. It is about an inch long and it is running along the edge of the air cell. I read somewhere that there may be a way to fix it. There is no gooey ooze present and the little critter is still moving around inside. Is using super glue a good option (if used sparingly)? Other ideas? Or do I just leave it alone and keep my fingers crossed? Thanks in advance.
