Hands on hatching and help

Great!!

We really need to get into a place of our own with a little land! I was offered some sebbie eggs for some silkie chicks. I want sebbies!! Lol No way I can have geese here, but maybe I'll have a source for the future.....
That is why we moved from California to Texas! We have just over an acre. Just imagine how many chickens I can get on an acre.

The one sebbie egg I have left is still going and my first duck just hatched!

If you see the beak in the air cell, which will look like a moving shadow in there, he's internally pipped. It looks like that might have been the case from your earlier photo :)

So the progress is like this
Hes moving (internal pip) for 24hours and then cheerp last night, but still dont see any pip hole yet, im so worry but lets wait til tomorrow :)

Yesterday I decided to make a pip for it and it looked like maybe it was shrink-wrapped? I cranked up the humidity in the hatcher and now it looks like this. See that little hole? I wonder if that had something to do with it?

Ok I have (almost) survived my first hatching. I have 13 seemingly healthy chicks. The last one to hatch was a Light Brahma early this morning. I have about the same number of eggs in my bator left. How long do I leave them and can I "peek"? They rested as of Thursday March 30th. My silkie showed me out by not only hatching the 4 I gave her but 3 of her own (my buff orpington rooster bred her) they are too cute with their bald necks and mom"s feather pattern!
