Hands on hatching and help

The egg is on day 27! I'm surprised the duck is still alive. I told her to send me a photo so I can pop it on here see what the veins are like etc hopefully it'll survive

With them being so far along there's definitely some hope :fl

She needs to keep the exposed membranes moist. Tell her to gently coat them in neosporin or coconut oil.

She lifted it up and it's head popped out!! Must of torn the membrane or maybe it pipped before. I'm going to go over there she's making no sense where she's panicking lol. I'll take a photo

Ok I'm here. It's definitely torn the membrane as there's more than one hole and it's whole head is out. Veins are pretty thin, seems pretty active but still has some yolk to absorb! Is there anything I can cover it with? And leave a hole? It's pretty wet and sticky and from my experience with sticky chicks they become rock hard

it's cheeped a couple times but gets tired after lol

Prop it up in a cup so that it's sitting vertically in the shell. That way it can't struggle loose before it finishes absorbing and the downward pressure on the yolk will help it absorb faster. Coat any exposed membranes in neosporin or coconut oil to try to prevent it from drying out.

And that's what I was going to say...lol
