Hands on hatching and help

Nope, I doubt it... his earlier post was about his age and how long he's been incubating and how he 'knows what he is talking about'...
Said candling too often will kill embryos too... :/

I don't do the cooling, but I know it has merit and solid truth behind it... but I also hand turn and have my bator open every day, few times a day and for various extended periods, lol...

Yeah, I think he saw he was outnumbered! :lau

If I remember correctly @Pyxis told me that cooling was absolutely necessary for successful goose egg incubation...
Yes! Both cooling and misting with water is what the goose incubators do

But your Brinsea does it at equal time spacings... :D
Well, the cradle is a bit wonky so it goes up slowly and then drops off faster on the down side. I want to get one of the new ovation incubators that has a better auto turner in it.

The Octagon cradles are known to have an issue. But I like the design. I'm disappointed they don't sell them anymore.

Both of my cradles do that too. :(

I've read it's a known flaw. I've also seen a fix for it, but there is no diagram and I'm not sure I can do it with only the explanation :he

-- I have 2 octagons also

I know which piece fails, and I've already concocted a couple fixes in my head for "when" it happens.

But i figure that's one of the main reasons the Ovations are a total redesign.

Is it bad not to candle eggs during the whole incubation process

Personal preference. I love candling and did it fairly often with my first bunch of hatches. Its so amazing to see the development! Those that don't candle are missing out, in my opinion! I mainly only candle now by putting the flashlight on top of them where they sit, and to check for clears.
