Hands on hatching and help

Geez, i had to work late tonight. :(

Any more action??? Ducks will bang around a little, making more than one pip before they actually start a full fledged zip. As of that pic, it's not zipping yet.
Darn it lol. Do you think it will be tonight or tomorrow with that being said?
I'm being as patient as can be reasonably expected lol. Mostly just super anxious.
He's since gotten it a little broader and nipped off a chunk of the membrane but other than that he seems sorta pooped lol:barnie

Can't rush perfection! :D

seriously, ducks test our patience to the max. They rest and we think they are dead. But we can't panic. once the hole is big enough to see the bill thru, watch for her to "yawn". as long as they are yawning, they aren't ready yet. It's an indication of yolk still being absorbed, and you definitely don't want it out of the shell until that is done!

Now, go wash some dishes, or laundry, or play a game on the computer. Or read more BYC!

I'm starting to think I've already lost my marbles lol. I just checked and he yawned... Sigh. Maybe he'll have this all done by morning. For the sake of my sanity at least. I really appreciate your help. :fl

Also, watch for the membrane to start drying out, turning brownish color. Hopefully that doesn't happen, but if it does, it may need some help.
But as long as it stays white to wet-looking gray, and you can get some reaction from it every so often, it should be fine.

Didn't it make the pip itself close to 24 hours now?

He made the pip himself sometime through last night, the membrane in the air sac is white with some pale yellowing where he first started to tap, but the inner one from what I can see still looks whitish.
