I did some searching here but didn't find a better place to put this idea and photos. We needed to get the feeder and waterer in the run up off the ground without spending a fortune and/or a lot of time. Went to Tractor Supply and got some chain and clips. DH already had the size hooks to hold the chain on the rafters.

You can see the back hook

The clips make it easy to remove the feeder and waterer for cleaning and refilling

This is about the worst rated feeder, but it was the only one I could find. The bottom twists into "locks" to hold it on, and the main complaint was that the chickens often untwisted it and all the feed fell out. Well, a drop of super glue at each lock spot hopefully will solve that problem

It can easily be cleaned and filled from the top anyway. The lid is a plastic bowl with a slit cut across the center for the handle. The overall set up is easily adjusted up or down and it didn't require any cutting of the chain. Hope this gives someone else some good ideas!

Cool!
I like the idea of it being on chains so you can easily heighten the feeder as they grow. I'm using rope & it's a bit annoying to get it at the right height every time I change it, which seems to be often so they don't get their feet in.

Yep! Adjustable is the trick. I can easily move the clips higher or lower on the chain just by re-positioning them and I don't have to climb up to the ceiling hooks
