Happiness is not having what you want

I am extremely grateful that we were able to move a few months ago into this house that we dearly love.

I am grateful that DH has steady employment, it was shaky there for a bit.

That my Brother in law survived his heart attack and has taken positive measures to stick around and help my sister raise their beautiful baby girl.

That I was able to walk away from my job a couple of years ago and be a SAHM, allowing me to homeschool my brilliant, unique youngest DS.

That my DH continues to be the most understanding, loving and patient person I know.

I am grateful that we are all safe and sound and looking forward to an exciting family filled holiday.

I'm grateful for family and friends, and for a house to live in, and that I get to see both of my parents even if they're divorced. I'm also grateful for all of our chickens and that we get to spend time with them everyday. I'm grateful for our church that we get to go to every Sunday, and I'm grateful to have a loving, forgiving God. I'm also grateful for BYC and all the members on it, because when I have a question about our chickens or something that's not even related to chickens, I can come here and ask it and I know that nice, kind, and helpful people will help me. Also, I'm grateful for the mods on BYC who keep it family-friendly on here and, like most of the BYC community, are so helpful and nice.
I'm grateful to be alive and know that even when times are hard, I'm still blessed to have what I do have because someone else is probably worse of than me somewhere.

My mom told me a Bible verse, I'm not sure if this is how it goes but it's similar and I forgot what verse it is..."Jesus was sad that he had no sandals to walk in, until he saw a man who had no feet." It's not that but it's something like that.

Oh and lastly I'm grateful that hikerchick started this thread.

I needed to pinch myself and remember how much I do have today.

All my children were here. They had a great day and got along!
They all loved their gifts!
My ex and his mother came over for breakfast. They brought laughter, played legos and watched movies with everyone.
His mother brought me her homemade jam. It is my most fav jam in the world and I have missed it. She wasn't able to harvest much this year because she has been ill, so getting a few jars was something really special!
My ex actually gave me cash for his share of the gifts... the first time ever.
My electric poultry net came in the mail yesterday... awesome gift from hubby.
My middle son told me how much he loved me and gave me the bestest most sincerest hug... then he fell back to sleep
