I will attend a service at the cemetary where my AF Vet Dad and Sister are buried and clean their headstones, and put flowers out.

At home I'll be building my duck enclosure and starting on a new quail hutch. Also cleaning, cleaning, cleaning! Possibly cleaning up a trailer I bought last weekend.

Listing some things on craigslist including some chicks and a roo. And rehoming my quail-loving cat with my friend!

Also going to a BBQ at my brother's house.

Oh man.. I better find some time to relax too.... heheheeee

Nothing planned this weekend. Going to dad's house at 4:00 today, spending whole weekend and half of Memorial Day at dad's house, with chickens and friends. No school Monday!

So basically just hanging out at house with chickens...playing with neighbor friends....nothing much.

Oh and Monday is big brother's birthday; he's turning 17 (or 18? lol I'm tired today...)

I'll be spending time with hubby, who is a veteran, doing the simple things around here that we did not get to do when he was at sea. I don't need a special day to remember those who have served, I've been there. I say a prayer for their familys every time I see on the news our military deploy, or every time I hear we lost one. I know that sacrifice, and it is always in our minds and hearts.

Thank you so much thedeacon for that honest, straight forward reminder of our loss of focus towards what is really important. What truly matters.

May we ALL take some time to truly reflect on this very important, historical and sacred day.

It is a four day weekend for me. Its foggy and 56* this weekend. But I am having fun playing with new bunnies, chickies, my new granddaughter. I also got to meet GD's great grandma from TN, and we can talk for hours with one another!!

Hubby is a former Marine. I tell him Thank You!! every Memorial Day. He has to work all weekend but is off on Monday. We will BBQ and hopefully watch college Baseball and Softball. Used to have the Softball world series over the weekend but they have pushed it back by a week.

Do you know the most requested song on the radio??!!

Lee Greenwood's I'm proud to be an American
