WINNING ENTRIES:

1.

nc farm's Mama the Rhode Island Red!

"Mama is a Rhode Island Red. This is our first clutch of chicks and hers as well! She had 14 total, as two were still yet to hatch when this photo was taken yesterday. She is happy about being a first time Mama and we are thrilled, too!"

2.

chickenluver555's Buttons the Easter Egger!

"This crazy Easter Egger hen is always chasing after bugs and jumping in the air to catch flies. She has flown out of her outdoor pen a few times, even after having her wings clipped! She is always happy to see me, and stands at the door of her coop bouncing up and down when I walk by. Buttons is not just a chicken, she is my best friend."

3.

darwinchooks' Charity Judith the Red Star!

"Charity is a Red Star hen. Her feathers are red, brown and gold in colour, and she has one black tail feather. Charity's happy because of all the attention she gets! She loves to snuggle in my lap, wrapped up in a jacket or blanket, especially on cold days. She's at the bottom of the pecking order so she gets bonus attention. Right now she's extra happy because I set up a nesting box just for her!"

4.

Tonkasmum's Fajita & Bleu!

"Fajita (Old English Game Bantam) adopted little Bleu (Polish) completely by accident. I got Bleu and put her in the nesting box for the night, didn't realize Fajita had decided to sleep in there! I came out later, there they were, all cuddled up. They've been mom 'n' baby ever since! Bleu is delighted to have a real mum, and Fajita (who used to be a bit witchy) is now a chirping, devoted mommy.
Of course, this pic makes it look like they've been drinking! "

5.

ChickenLove6's Lemon Drop the Light Sussex Bantam

"This is Lemon Drop, she is a light sussex bantam hen. She has just recently been broody and hatched 7 wonderful chicks! When she was younger she got bullied by my older hens and usually sat in the corner on her own. So one day I decided that I would befriend her. It took a lot of months for her to be comfortable in my arms, but now she can't get enough of cuddles! She follows me around everywhere and is always jumping up to sit on my knee!"

5.5

MoodyBroody622's Estes the Silkie Bantam!

"Estes is a Buff Silkie Bantam hen. She is very sweet and pretty. Not very talkative but is very social! She LOVES to play with my Polish hen London as they are the same age

She likes mealworms and clover the best!"

6.

kidcody's Miss Lady the Lavender English!
"Super friendly loves to follow me around and then likes to jump in my lap.."

7.

silkiesuz's Sweet Marilyn the English Jubilee Orpington Bantam!

"Out of all my chickens, Sweet Marilyn is the friendliest and most docile of them all. When I walk outside she comes running. It doen't matter what she is doing or where she is, she acts like a dog. Sometimes I could swear she wags her tail. She would like it if I could just carry her around with me while I do my chores. This is why I think Sweet Marilyn is the happiest hen I know."

8.

CherishHolland's Gene the Silver Phoenix Bantam

"
Gene is a Bantam Silver Phoenix,he was on his way to crock pot camp, when my husband rescued him. His previous owners said he was aggressive, I have yet to see an ounce of aggression out of this beauty, now his brother that is a different story . He happily watches over his flock of teenagers and is always ready to be held and loved on by anyone, even my 5 year old son. All Gene needed was someone to love him and offer him the room he needed for his gorgeous tail! I believe he is happy to have a good loving home where he is spoiled rotten with love and treats and doesn't have to worry about being sent to crock pot camp!"

9.

scrouse74's Miss Georgia the Easter Egger:

"This is Miss Georgia. She's an easter egger (we think.) 11 weeks old. She loves the afternoon treats that we give her. Her favorite treat is bananas. She has a distinct chirp and can run very fast. She and our turkey have become close friends."

10.

leenie's Taco Belle!

"Taco Belle was found under a bridge on cold day and moved in with us as a house chicken. Taco Belle trained three dogs to know who was boss over her years with us. She came when called, went to the door to do her business and always got first dibs in front of the fire much to the dismay of the dog already occupying that spot.
She truly enjoyed the finer things in life."

Thank you for entering! Congrats to the winning entries. This is the LINK to your printable banners. If you'd like your name or chicken's name put on it electronically PM me with what you'd like written.
