This is my absolute favorite time of year as well

Doing well here, for the most part, outside of being so broke we can't even pay attention

I've got to get things fenced in out there or I'll have no gardens at all, the chooks are digging up everything (as we all know they will!!) So time to go out and play in the garden!

Have fun in the garden .. I am thinking im gonna have to somehow cover my garden this year as well.. since the girl think its their private buffet... Glad things are going good though.. I feel you on being broke...

Here is a silly question. I know that you are supposed to wish people a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, etc. How do you wish someone a good Ostara? I saw that CoopCrazy said Blessed Ostara. Is there any specific way to wish someone a good Ostara?

Are there any special foods for this day? We are having some deviled eggs because that seems to fit early spring. I like to cook so finding new recipes always makes me happy.

My way of celebrating the vernal equinox is to keep my nose in the garden - which I have, I just came up for air long enough to get dinner started. Now I'm back out to the herb garden. Spring has sprung

But we need to keep in mind around here that Winter isn't done with us yet - through April anything can happen! (sometimes into May - May 10, 1978 we got six inches of wet snow!)

Happy Ostara! Planted peas, lettuces, kale and oats, and started some shiitake and oyster mushroom spawn, took cuttings from my herb plants, roses and golden chain tree. Going fishing tomorrow!

We do the things most people do for Easter as most of it is related to Ostara in the first place....

I also have my children break an egg into a hole in the ground and ask the earth's blessing for prosperity in the coming seasons and that all of our plants and animals and family members and luck etc etc grow After the egg is broken we plant seed in the egg, right in the ground. Those plants always seem to do the best come summer even if it is too early for what is planted.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

What a wonderful tradition.

Is it a tradition that you invented? If not, what is its origins?
