Hiya, Ann, and welcome to BYC!

I too kind of wonder about letting your chickens free range. Now that you have them there, any predators in your area know they're there too. We free range but have two dogs and a plethora of motion lights, both electric and solar, and a few outdoor cameras/trail cams, so we know what's out there.
