Hard boiled eggs

I know. I know! This comes up All. The. Time. But I saw this this morning and thought I'd give it a go.

I've always been a steam-'em-and-plunge-them-in-ice gal so his advice that the ice is unnecessary was what drew my attention. I've also always done my eggs for 12 minutes so I had to experiment with 11. I might even experiment with 10 next time.

My results were that my eggs peeled just fine without the ice and doing them 11 minutes left them springy, fully-cooked and less dry. Quite delicious in fact.

I'm glad I saw the video and tried out his method. I hope someone here will be too.

I would say the amt of time depends on size of egg. We get tiny to huge eggs here. Tiny banty eggs take 6 min.

Yes, got it now --sorry. Good to know the regular pot beat the instant pot....I'll try steaming for sure. Eggs in video look smaller than my leghorn eggs, but I'll try 11 min.
