Peeling Hard Boiled Eggs

They are like that when they have sat in the same position for some time. Long enough for enough moisture to evaporate from the albumen leaving the yolk to migrate close to the edge.

If I put them in the fridge would it make a difference?

Has anyone noticed that eggs layed by specific hens peel better than others? I know older eggs tend to peel better period, but we eat so many eggs sometimes that is not an option. I have 4 EE hens. 2 lay blue (different shades), 1 olive and 1 brown. The brown eggs always peel super easy and are beautiful. The blues are hit and miss, but mostly peel well if older and the olive is so ridiculous that I don't even boil them at all anymore. My method is to boil starting in roiling water for 10 minutes then remove, crack and soak in ice bath for at least 10 minutes. This has served me well in the past so I don't think it's my method, I just think it is that dang green egg.
Yes!! This is exactly what I am experiencing and was looking for helpful answers. Another poster also asked about it, cause we are wondering about nutrition, but everyone just keeps telling us HOW to boil or peel them, shheesh. I suppose many people with many hens and many eggs wouldn't keep track, but also not have problems, so I'm still confused. Just boiled 8 eggs from two layers, the eggs (and hens) similar in age. 4 peeled beautifully, easy, perfect, the other 4 were absoulutly garbage and had to go to the dog or back to the hens. These two girls lay a similar color (olive), so I couldn't tell who's who. Can't help but wonder if someone's sick or deficient somehow. Gonna separate the eggs I know and try again...

My Mammaw always says older eggs peel better but we've been keeping ours pointy end down and boiling them in a egg device?(Will look later) And even the newly laid that day they peel to perfection. So not idea of there are tricks or not lol
