Our RIR boiled eggs are the same as the other breeds; and all are great! However, my youngest boy does not like them and the other kids are not as crazy about the home grown eggs as the were about the store bought ones. Other cooking methods add extra flavors so they are OK with that, but with the boiled eggs the egg flavor is all there is. They have the same problem with fried eggs although not as bad.
I think they do not like them as much because they taste different. My husband and I love the fresh eggs! They will come around, as will your friend, when they get used to the different taste. It is similar to grass-fed beef or real milk, it just tastes different than the super processed stuff.
