Hard-Knock Hatches

I sat here for 15 minutes. It gets a little low @ 98.5
It looks like both fertile eggs are going to hatch, though.

I do the same thing, stick the medical thermometer down the air hole. Works great for units with fans. Temp would be far too low if a still air.

Trick to dialing in a forced air with digital medical like that is to let it heat up and give you the high temp then wait for the heating unit to come on and start turning off and on thermometer to reset temp. It will continue to drop for about 30 seconds after the heat element turns on. Those digital usually only display the highest temp it read so need to keep resetting it (off/on) to find the low. Average the high and low, that's your incubator temp.

With a forced air and setting average temp this way to 99.5 my eggs hatch day 21 everytime.
