I've looked at the pictures on the allotment page... and the condition I am describing is not like any of these. One of our chickens (or more?) is depositing a hard white substance in their poop. The first time I say it, I thought it was a egg in the poop. If you take a hose to the poop... it does not dissolve at all. Instead it just sits there and might break into pieces. Its almost as if you took some wet polyfil and made a ball...about the size of a golf ball and let it dry. It is hard, but will crumble, but not dissolve. It has only been a couple of weeks this has been occuring.... and only in about 10% of the poop in the field... which makes me think it is only one chicken with this issue. The chickens are all one year old now.
Our chickens are fed have some scratch in the am (a handful for 8 birds to share), and feed/crumble from the coop, and free range most of the day.
Any ideas what this could be signalling?
Thanks.
