Hardware cloth vs welder wire

The coop plans that I purchased calls for 1x1 welded wire but I can't find 1x1 welded wire. I do see 1x1 hardware cloth. Could this the same thing?
I pictured "welded wire" much thicker. I do have predators here in Florida.

Well in my opion I would Use 2x4 welded wire & and then go up at least 3 ft. in hardware cloth. But thats just me!
