Hardware wire help needed

I recommend covering the whole thing in hardware cloth~~it's not just raccoons & possums you're protecting your birds from.....SNAKES will crawl through the other wire and get your birds and your eggs.

Well I think it looks really hot, but I live in FL so I have a different prospective - I would put a high/low thermometer in it to see how hot the temps get in there wherever you plan to put it. No since in fixing it if its too hot or too cold.

It is well ventilated with good sized windows (wire, then plastic on a closing panel) on both of the flat sides of the coop part. I was concerned about that too. The day we went to MO to get it, it was 95 degrees and the hoop had been sitting in the sun with the windows closed. I went into the coop part, and it was cooler than it was outside. That is one of the reasons I want it really secure. If it gets horribly hot, the girls could have their pop door open and go out into the run where it was cooler. But to do that, the run has to be REALLY secure.

Good idea on the thermometer. When I get the thing out in the yard under the trees I'll do that.
