Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

I texted my neighbor to see if she was going to get chicks this spring. And maybe I could hatch some out for her...? Life lesson for her 3 home schooled boys... I think they don't have qualms about eating a cockerel...

I haven't heard back from her.

Fingers crossed she will say yes! :)

@CluckNDoodle @aart here are pics of the meat thermometer after I calibrated it with the ice method and one of it in the incubator. There is no way the incubator is 120*

Ok I'm stumped, lol! @aart !!!

LOL see why I was lost and confused? at that time the Govee said it was 98.7. As of now the Govee says 96.9 I put the meat one back in (right where the govee is and it says 124* so it went up 4* and the Govee went down 2*.. how does that make sense? so I honestly have ZERO clue what temp it is in there .

The thermometer failed in the boiling test, I wouldn't have used it.
I haven't really used it. Was showing where my problem was with it and what I was getting. But I honestly have no clue if the Govee is even right... At the time I took the pic of the meat one the Govee showed 98.7 (the others in there that I think may be close??????) showed 99-100 or there about ............ right now I put the meat one back in just to see what it showed since the Govee was showing 96.9 and the meat one is showing 124* so one went up and one went down. they are both in the same spot in the incubator. I forgot to check the others in there.

Should I return that one and get another one and hope that works for boiling and ice? Basically if I do the ice test and calibrate it, then do the boiling it should land right on the line that says boil test?

I can't remember if I shared part one of the shipped egg hatch here...but here is part two. lol

OMG this is awesome! I so want to experience this! Feeling kind of defeated right now though to be honest. Not sure if I should try with more eggs if these are duds (but 1 person on another thread said because mine are cochins the fluffy butt can get in the way of fertilization.....) or try to order some. But not sure I want to spend $30 on eggs if my problem is the incubator that I have and not fertilization........ and then to have to find homes for most that I hatch (I was only going to keep 2 if I got 2 splash pullets) after spending $30 for eggs.........

I've been where you are right now. I made a post years ago about my trust issues with thermometers. I purchased so many before I settled on the inexpensive ones that I use now and they have worked great for me but clearly, even those trusty old-fashioned meat thermometers can be faulty! Ugh.
If I were you I would exchange it for a new one. If it makes you feel any better I know several people have purchased them at my suggestion and this is the first faulty one I've heard about. So the chances of the next one working properly if you exchange it are very good!

Thanks! I really feel you will be experiencing this soon too! Just maybe in a few weeks after trimming some fluffy butts, lol. Even with all of the crazy readings on the thermometers, you would still see SOMETHING in the eggs. I was just helping a friend last week that was having tons of quitters and when she checked the temp on her incubator (with the wally world meat thermometer I might add, lol!) she found that it was at 92°F. They were still developing but many were quitting and the ones that hatched were of course very very late and weak.
