Hey, don't want to interrupt anything, lol. But does anyone know if I can use the turner with bobwhite quail eggs? I've been turning by hand because I like having thermometers in there and I'm not sure how to put the thermometers in with the turner. I'm leaving tomorrow for a few days though and my parents will have to watch it, but I'd like to make ir easier by putting them in the auto turner so they don't have to turn them 3x a day. I have some gripoy shelf liner down. I just don't want the turner to break any eggs. If I can use it how should I arrange them in there? I have 7 eggs on day 6.

Same brand and model?

Candy is pretty touchy.
No, mine is Acu-rite. The head is more oval, but everything else is the same besides the screw on the front. Same little pocket clip cover case too.

This one-

Forgot that I also used a round one like this-

The metal one above read 99 near as I could see, which wasn;t well because the dial is small.

And I currently have a little white square therm/hygro inside with the eggs. Don't remember the brand but got it at Walmart years ago in the indoor/outdoor thermomer section. That things takes a beating and just keeps on going...

Yes, I've incubated quail eggs with the auto turner. They do bounce around more than larger eggs so just have them check to make sure all of the eggs are still oriented correctly every day. I've never tried using the turner with the shelf liner in place but someone had good results doing that recently. I'm not sure if it would cause the tiny eggs to bounce more or less so I would definitely use the feature to test the turner a few times and make sure everything is satisfactory.

Ok, thanks! I'll try it today. Any tips for fitting in a thermometer anywhere? I think it would mess with the turner, but I'm not sure. Loving the incubator so far though.

My therm/hygro is a small rectangle that sits on top of the turner and takes up 1 1/2 of the spaces in the outer ring. It rides above the "floor" on the turner so just goes right around like an egg. One corner does barely touch an egg, but doesn't interfere with turning at all.

I decided to put the shelf liner down on day one and it does really help the eggs roll smoother while turning. I wasn't going to until I experimented a little before hitting the reset to actually start the set time over and it helped a couple of the larger eggs turn better, while all the others turn smoother.
Figured it was better than removing everything on day 18 to then put it down. It does seem to leave a mark on the eggs, which could be where it's rubbed the more powdery part of the bloom off, but I'm on day 15 and as of last night only 2 of 20 eggs appear to be quitters.
(I previously removed 2 eggs that were clears/infertile on day 10)

My gut would say after watching the eggs turn with and without the shelf liner that the liner might keep the quail eggs for bouncing around too much. The turner isn't the smoothest thing in the world.

I have found the NR360s to be reliable so I only check prior to setting eggs and then I remove the secondary thermometers so I'm no help on this one.

I can't remember for the life of me who I was talking to about the temperature alarm on the NR360. I knew I didn't make it up! :lau

I was fiddling with the incubator I broke and look! A temperature alarm! You just never hear it because it's typically very stable... unless you break yours too. Lol

I think it was on my half shell thread?
