Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

I think I was in that conversation too. I've never heard the alarm even when I take the top off to do the 7 day and 14 day candle. Otherwise I quick grab and egg leaving the lid on.

Have you pushed the + and - buttons together to watch it turn? Mine is very quiet when it auto turns and if I'm not right there looking I don't know when it turns. But the temp/hygro is moving around the turntable so something is doing the jive.

3 days to go!

It is! I have to wiggle mine a little to get the front and rear notches to line up. I keep meaning to put smaller hooks on like MGG has and fashion a little handle. I did make a "hood" from black construction paper to block the extra light from the housing while candling and it helps a lot.

I open mine all the way when I candle too but I put the lid on the counter next to the incubator so the warmth is still trapped in there. I think it takes some time before the alarm goes off.

Cream Legbars...do they lay blue eggs?

Yes

What flashlight did you order? I may get one along with a couple of GoVees.

I did a high lumen flashlight comparison earlier this year with a blue egg and a dark brown Marans egg. The Sofirn is still my old trusty but last time I checked it wasn't available. My second favorite is the WUBEN.

My therm/hygro is a small rectangle that sits on top of the turner and takes up 1 1/2 of the spaces in the outer ring. It rides above the "floor" on the turner so just goes right around like an egg. One corner does barely touch an egg, but doesn't interfere with turning at all.

I decided to put the shelf liner down on day one and it does really help the eggs roll smoother while turning. I wasn't going to until I experimented a little before hitting the reset to actually start the set time over and it helped a couple of the larger eggs turn better, while all the others turn smoother.
Figured it was better than removing everything on day 18 to then put it down. It does seem to leave a mark on the eggs, which could be where it's rubbed the more powdery part of the bloom off, but I'm on day 15 and as of last night only 2 of 20 eggs appear to be quitters.
(I previously removed 2 eggs that were clears/infertile on day 10)

My gut would say after watching the eggs turn with and without the shelf liner that the liner might keep the quail eggs for bouncing around too much. The turner isn't the smoothest thing in the world.
Thanks! That's helpful to know. I get those weird pattern things on my eggs from the shelf liner in both incubators. It doesn't seem to affect anything.

It's hard to get the top back on right because the plastic flexes.

That's the freaking truth lol! A slightly deeper recess would help.

So, weird thing. Both of my incubators spiked temp today at the same time, on their own today. Alarms went off. No clue why either. I heard the alarms when I got home, ran in and opened them up. Incubator 1 had hit over 104. Incubator 2 hit 102. Inc 1 was at temp for a fair bit 😟.

Bleh.

Praying it wasn't enough to do damage 😒😞

A dark room and controlling light leakage are they keys to easy candling.
Oh my room is dark and I made a black paper hood for the very bright on incubator candler so there is no leakage...but I can assure you...I'd prefer something better.
Some of my eggs have heavy pigment and speckles even though they are medium brown to the naked eye. I cannot even imagine trying to do Maran eggs.

Hmmm...wonder if it was an electricity surge?
Praying everyone is ok! :fl

I've got mine plugged into a surge protector because we get a lot of thunder and lighting storms this time of year.

I couldn't find one that looked exactly like @R2elk's...

So I spent a while scouring questions and reviews on Amazon of flashlights of the same type. I ended up buying this one. There was a bit of "This light says it's this many lumens, but I tested it at THIS many" and "My this light is 50% brighter than my this many lumen light!" Ultimately I figured whatever I got, I'd be better off than I am now.

It's set to arrive tomorrow, and I should candle the day after.
