Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

They still have the same amount of weight they need to lose when the air cell is saddled. It just appears large because anywhere the membrane isn't attached to the shell will light up when candled. They only way to accurately monitor those eggs is by weighing but I adjust humidity based on the entire hatch, not just a few.
So basically just monitor the air cells that aren't saddled to see if you need to adjust anything.
Thank you! I weighed the eggs when I got the shipped ones so I have all the weights. Should I weigh them again on day 7? how much should they lose each week?

That's totally up to you! Some people prefer to monitor air cells and some prefer the weight method since it's more exact. I usually just watch the air cells because it's easier for me but I did an experiment with some silkie eggs where I monitored both the air cells and the weight so I would have something to show as an example. It ended up being a 100% hatch minus the one infertile egg so it's a great example.

- Eggs should lose 11-13% during first 18 days of incubation
- Between 0.6-0.7% per day average but this is not exact

These were the weights and pictures:

Egg 1 – Day (0) 37 grams – Day (7) 36 grams – Day (15) 34 grams – Day (18) 33 grams – LOST 10.81%
Egg 2 – Day 0 – 37 grams - INFERTILE
Egg 3 – Day (0) 37 grams – Day (7) 35 grams – Day (15) 34 grams – Day (18) 33 grams – LOST 10.81%
Egg 4 – Day (0) 39 grams – Day (7) 37 grams – Day (15) 35 grams – Day (18) 35 grams – LOST 10.25%
Egg 5 – Day (0) 37 grams – Day (7) 36 grams – Day (15) 34 grams – Day (18) 33 grams – LOST 10.81%
Egg 6 – Day (0) 39 grams – Day (7) 38 grams – Day (15) 36 grams – Day (18) 35 grams – LOST 10.25%

great thank you! I figured I would do both. Some air cells will be hard to mark as they are a bit odd shaped at least right now. thinking I will need one of my kids to help me mark them. LOL

That sounds safe to me personally! The average is perfect.
ok. I know depending on where they are in the incubator will depend on how hot or cold so wasn't sure what was too hot for them. didn't want to go over that. :)

can veins get harder to see? S9 the one that is med was hard to see the veins to start (for me anyways) but today I thought maybe I saw less than before. but I could see the chick and it looked to be moving around so guessing still alive..... I am on day 6. and thought I read the chicks get harder to see at some point because they move further into the egg? Not sure when this is.
