Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

I do adjust them every few hours or so since they tend to get a little stuck after a few turns, but at least they are totally not moving. Worked perfectly since I am off this week, so adjust in the morning, mid-day, dinner time, & before bed. I should hope this won’t hurt too bad until I can wean them down a bit. No Cochin boys/fluffy roos in my group. 2 gorgeous Easter Eggers, a Barred Olive Egger & an Orpington roo. So I am hoping for a nice color variety of chicks this time!
Oh so exciting!!!!!

@CluckNDoodle if I remember right you said before you don't let your shipped eggs rest????

I was planning on setting my shipped eggs tomorrow since they should have come today and didn't.......... so now praying they come tomorrow so I can run to the PO and grab them. BUT I am short on time so not sure when to set them. I don't want to wait till Sat since then I would be gone the whole ship day and I don't want to miss basically all of it. So still would like to set them tomorrow. I have a few choices.

A. get them and set them right after either in egg cartons so they can be pointy side down for the first 24 hrs but in the incubator......... Or just set them the normal way in the NR360.

B. sit on counter for about 6 hrs then set them laying down

C. sit on counter for about 13-14 hrs and put them in either in egg cartons or laying down.......

have you found it made a difference?

anyone else opinions on what option you would do????

I usually rest my eggs in my home only long enough for them to come to room temperature, especial if they were cold. I've waited as little as 3 hours before, usually about 8 hours based on the time of day I want to set my eggs, rather than it really being about resting them.

Oh, and once in the incubator I always put them in the turner unless the air cell is completely detached. Saddled air cells go right into the turner as well. I've had great success doing this.

So, what’s the largest number of eggs anyone has put into lockdown in the NR360? I stacked 31 and am hand turning them, and after first candle I saw veining in 27 eggs…

You will probably need to time opening the incubator to remove fluffy chicks so that the others have room to hatch but it should be fine.

Another question. I collected eggs the day I set them. Nothing was jarred or moved quickly. However I candles today and this is what I saw (quoted from my HAL so I don’t have to type it again).

I have one question. Extra egg 3 did not have an air cell that I could see. There was a liquidy lighter area that moved around. I don’t know how an air cell could detach from a freshly hatched egg, but I’m guessing that’s what I’m dealing with. I put it upright in the incubator in a single egg carton holder with the bottom cut out. Aside from that, it looks like it is developing normally. Any advice on what to do with it?

Oddities can happen like this that aren't due to rough handling. I had a peacock with an entirely detached membrane. Keep it upright and tilt it back and forth instead of turning.
if it doesn't look like there is a bubble at all and it's not developing yet, I would probably toss it because they can be upsetting to try to hatch if they lose the air cell entirely.

It looks like it is developing completely normally. Only thing is I couldn’t find an air cell. And it’s one of the only blue eggs I set. What can be upsetting? I’ll tilt it upright for the next few days and see what happens. So odd…
