I love the depth and bredth of the books. The movie just remind me of highlights (and occasioinally make me wonder why they didin't make this or that into a scene. And of course, you can't know all their thoughts.

If HP fans haven't yet done so, I recommend a study of JKR's adult life and how she came to write the books Potter. She, with a child, divorced an abusive husband and returned to live in England. The State provided financial support and she was able to begin writing whilst at home to care for her child. She is now one of Britain's wealthiest women. Note her philanthropic work:
