Harvey the Great is Dying. . .

Pics
I just read the entire thread and this is reminding me of my sick hen Eleanor. Beginning on "the ides of March"(Shakespeare ), my beautiful blue-green eyed hen fell ill with an infection called Salpingitis located in the oviducts of a chicken. For two weeks I thought to myself "why doesn't she just die already? She looks so sick and sad." After two weeks, a miracle happened. Eleanor was suddenly drinking and eating and walking around. She was still a little wobbly but was making good progress. Today she is acting like a normal happy hen who runs around and makes loud noises, but she can not be considered all better until she lays an egg again. I happened to have broody hen that hatched out her son Eckle while she was sick just in case she did pass. He is so sweet and cute! I hope that, like Eleanor, a miracle shall take place for your rooster. This world is a beautifully mysterious place where the unthinkable can happen. Never give up!:D

I agree with you sometimes when some Bacteria hit the immunity it will make the chicken ill the mortality timing is first to 5th day then the effects reverse and chicken immune system start healing on it's own

Is harvey is Cornish Cross ?.
17 months is not so old to die but I guess it's a normal chicken behavior to stand and sleep then go have so fun but I may be wrong too
No, Harvey is a White Jersey Giant, a breed created by 2 men in New Jersey. They are very large and roosters can weigh as much as 13 pounds! Harvey is not doing much now, and certainly not jumping the girls. He stands and sleeps or walks a bit. I started him on antibiotics yesterday and am hopeful that a course of antibiotics will cure him. :fl

He's very young actually ..and looks double and very pretty I think her owner should investigate on his crop and poop
Howdy! I think you jumped into this thread without reading it all, and I understand. His crop is empty, his poop is watery yellow tinged soup. He drinks but will not eat. He's had Corid and now started on antibiotics. If he doesn't start eating (it's been over 10 days) it won't matter anyway, he will just starve. I have force fed him, but don't really want to continue to do that. He's my sweet boy and I'm doing everything I can to help him survive. :fl

I love your avatar, what a great photo! I can never get the good shots like this, and I try hard! My avatar is my Delaware hen called "Sneeker". She likes to sneak past me into the shed where the food is!!!!
Thank you. She was a little 'stray' and as sweet as could be, we were real upset when the possum got her. We almost gave up on having chickens. She was fascinated with my phone is the only way I was able to get her 'selfies', I usually played Candy Crush with her on my wrist and she would peck at the game!
