Harvey the Great is Dying. . .

Oh i’m so happy to hear this @Peppercorngal (maybe the titel of this topic should be changed hehe).
Thanks for the update! I’m so happy for you and Harvey:yesss:
:wee:wee
Yeah, we should change the topic to "Harvey is Living"!! This morning he walked out of the run with the girls and started to chase one down the hill, you know, to mate with her! He is finally vocal again and I want to try to get a video this afternoon of him walking around making his manly noises! His poop now looks normal and healthy and I saw him preening for the first time again yesterday. What a success story, huh? So happy! :clap

Either way, I'm glad he's alive and well now. I would love to see updates, pictures, and videos of Harvey. He is one cool chicken. :)

OP, how do Harvey and Jethro get along? Are they together?
Harvey gets along with everyone. This year's new chickens have all been integrated into the flock. There are 4 leghorns around 10 weeks old, 3 hen raised chicks (including Jethro) that are now 8 weeks old, and 6 "incubator" chicks that are 5 weeks old. They all hang out together during the day. At night the adults go into run & coop #1 for the night and all the "younglings" and Maggie (the one hen that hatched 3 chicks) spend the night in run & coop #2. In the morning all doors are opened and they intermix and interact at will. I haven't seen any excitement except juvenile "play" fighting and pecking order adjustments with the younglings. I may have one or even two more up and coming roosters besides Jethro, time will tell. So far so good!

Ok, I guess I have to ask for help. I have a video that I took of Harvey this afternoon. He is verbal and "honking" up a storm. I can't get it to load on YouTube. My camera and my iPod videos come out in the "MOV" format. I tried converting to MP4 and can't load either one on YouTube. Why? What am I doing wrong? I can wait for 15 minutes and it will still say "0% uploaded". Any ideas? :idunno

Try downloading VLC Media Player. It can convert .mov to .mp4.

I'm of no help with this. I don't have a computer or a camera. I do everything on my cell phone. BUT...what if you play your video and use your cell to video the video? I'm thinking quality might suffer but as a last ditch effort it might work. :idunno

I tried again this morning to get the .MP4 video to load on YouTube. After 12 minutes of waiting it was only 5% loaded and I gave up. I think I know what you mean about using the phone to video the video, but we have no cell service here. My phone is too old (and it doesn't make sense to me to buy a new phone when there is no cell service!!) and does not have Wi-Fi capability, so I cannot connect to the internet with it. I just don't know what to do, I really wanted y'all to hear Harvey with his honking voice and see him walking around! He crowed this morning for the first time since April 15th! He is doing so well now and today is the last day of antibiotics for him.

Morning update: Harvey crowed this morning for the first time in almost a month. He is behaving very normally now. He is eating, drinking, pooping normal and jumping his girls with alarming regularity. Today will be his last day of antibiotics. I did take a video and am determined to find a way to get it loaded so y'all can see it. Give me a little time and I'll get it on here! I want to thank all of you for your support, advice, prayers and good thoughts, it really helped to have your support and love during Harvey's illness! Thanks!
:love
