has any one else gotten shipped eggs in the new foam shippers?????

I've gotten eggs shipped in newspaper, peanuts, bubble wrap, tissue paper & egg cartons.
They come taped together, not taped at all.
I've had the box dropped.
But so far I don't like the foam.
Some one tell me that they do, please.

I got eggs in foam squares similar to this. The squares each held (if I remember right) two eggs. The egg was inside the hole with a plug of foam over the egg. I got a two dozen...the squares of foam were nestled in bubble wrap...none of my eggs were cracked or broken. It was great...coming from N. Hampshire to n. Michigan. However...another buyer in N. Carolina got the same eggs packed the same way from the same seller and two were broke and 1 or 2 cracked. REally depends on the postal service. I thought it was great.

Ok, so maybe it is just this box.

I'm going to stay with double boxing, and bubble wrap each egg.
I want no chance of movement and lots of packing between eggs and outside of box

Is there anything under the foam? Seems to me that shipper would still need to put something underneath the foam and on top to protect. I can't see first hand, but honestly it seems that foam underneath the eggs is not real thick.

I've gotten one box with foam. There was one egg per hole and a slice of solid foam on the bottom and top. None were cracked and air cells were all good to okay. These are set to hatch tomorrow and it looks like about half will make it. I suspect this was more due to the below freezing temp upon arrival here and the long long distance they traveled. Over all I'm happy with foam and have since recycled this foam set to someone else. However I do think it is important to have the right sized hole so the egg nestles in the middle of it and doesn't sink to one end.

Hi! Only once rec'd eggs in a foam shipper, the eggs were not all intact (it's been a while and don't remember how many were broken/cracked).
I remember thinking the box was too small and there wasn't enough cushioning on the top and bottom and that's probably what allowed the breakage.
I was flat-out of bubblewrap later on and used the foam, adding extra layers of cushioning in a bigger box and my customer still got a cracked egg.
Just those 2 experiences left me thinking I'll stick with what works for me.

edit: Nevermind, you said new foam shippers. I haven't tried any new-style foam shippers. The one I got a while back *looked* like the one in your pic.
