has any one ever used craigslist?

If you are looking for a nice dog check with a vet in your area - our vet has helped clients re home their animals when life has unexpected circumstances. If you stop in it helps if you have your information written down for them to keep on hand. Our Saint Bernard came to us via our animal groomer as needing to be re homed asap. She has been a terrific dog - the perfect family pet. So maybe let groomers & pet care professionals in your area know that you are looking to provide a home for a nice big family dog. Good Luck in your search.

CL is having MAJOR problems today!!!!
undeliverable emails, poster not able to edit or delete lists, and i can't even post an ad because of the new account system phone verification system isn't working. and noone's home at CL as usual

Well you guys are right, it has been 24 hours and nothing. I thought I grabbed the post right away, but I guess it wasn't soon enough. There were some others, but I am scared to go for an older dog. when they say great w/kids, it could be calm kids! lol Mine run around doing there thing so loud at time. my soon to be 5 yr old loves wall-e and he tries to say it like eva but it is so high pitched it goes right through you. And he likes to make the little dogs dance. (believe me they hate that) lol He means well, but that is why I think they need a puppy where it will grow with them and get used to their nonsense! lol

thanks for all your posts, I really appreciate it!

Be carefull with Craiglist animals sellers, lots of scammers there.

They would get free pups or kittens, then ask outragious "rehoming fees" tot he tune of 100-200 bucks.

THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

I would never pay "rehoming fee" to any individual.

However I would pay reasonable rehoming fee to a legitimate dog shelter, or rescue operation, since they have their pups/dogs checked by vet, updated with shots etc. They are not making any profit, just trying to help cover their expenses.

Remember" Never pay a "rehomong" fee to any individual.

If they are really concerned about a "good home" for their pets, they should investigate you and your conditions.
Paying "rehoming fee" is no assurance that the next owner will provide proper care for a pet.

In my area they started ask "rehoming fee for RATS!!!

Yes, REHOMING FEES FOR RATS, what a bunch of losers.

Excuse me ??

$200 rehoming fee for a grown dog? Often a mix or mutt?

Mature dog for snake food??

Thats a lame excuse of scammers and low life scum taking adventage of animals misery.

If you are really concerned for your pet needing new home you make some effort and check out their new home and owners.

Rescue dog legitimate institutions require filling an application and paying rehoming fee, but you get an animal checked by a vet with health records to prove it.

I was guilty of this. A large snake can get very expensive to feed, and I don't raise rabbits anymore. Sorry for rat lovers, never had a high opinion of them, and at $3 a pop with a snake who went through 3 a week...........

And before you flame me, i said i WAS. Was guilty back then, nevermore

I have had very good luck rehoming cockerals, thru Craig's List. I also sold an incubator. I NEVER, EVER give out my home address. I always arrange to meet the person at a McDonald's or a gas station or something. The reason for my caution is that I once listed an office on CL. I needed to sub-let it. CL yielded one inquiry and showing. It was a guy that said he was "bought out" / early retirement from a local factory and interested in starting a business. At our meeting, he said he was thinking of starting a photography studio or modeling agency - or maybe an escort service - He wondered what I thought of that(!) I told him that I thought our meeting was OVER!
Good luck with the dog. I had a pup lined up & the guy contacted me in the 11th hour & said that it had parvo...

Mature dog for snake food??

I was talking about the RATS you mentioned in the post right above my comment. Sheesshh!!!!

well, now I am happy they didn't contact me. Between what every one said and I might have a pup from petfinder. She is being transported to CT. I am so happy! They charge the adoption fee, and transportation fee. Which I don't mind, it is a lot cheaper then these breeders. So maybe Sat. we will have our new girl!
