Has anybody ever had a tiny yolkless eggs?

They are VERY cute. It's always good to know that the girls are normal.

JennsPeeps, thanks for the link. We've had a shell-less egg before, and I've had double yolks from the store-bought eggs, but I had no idea that you could get eggs within eggs or those weird shaped eggs. Fascinating.

How odd, I read about this just the other day and then, one of my chickens laid two of them herself in the course of two days. I am absolutely refusing to read anything about mites or other pests in the case that that, too, is contagious! It is good to know that it can be normal, but I get paranoid and now will be WATCHING them like a hawk!

Hey guys! First post! So, one of our girls has just started laying "Fart eggs" pretty regular. We have three hens that have been great egg producers for the last 5-6 months (we got the girls last Easter, and all of the sudden a few weeks ago, we were only getting 2 eggs, then we started getting 2 eggs and a fart egg. (sorry, it's just fun to say.)

I have 1 Rhode Island Red, and 2 others that are her same size (from Tractor Supply, Pullets). They are free-range for the most part on a quarter acre. We feed them the normal crumble for "Layers" that I get from tractor supply. I have never given them any meds, or anything other than this food. I was told to give them oyster shells the other day, but haven't done that yet. Girls are super tame and follow me around like puppies. My kids love them.

Yesterday we got a REALLY small fart egg. Robin egg size. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

My chicken layed two small eggs in a row. One was yolkless and the second was alittle bigger but still very small. These are her first eggs after a molt. Last fall she was laying big eggs every day. Does this sometimes happen after a molt?

in replace of the yolk there will be a tiny tiny bit of grey. if this it you do have to worry.
if the chicken is just starting to lay no its normal.

At First I just thought my Cream Leghorn had an oops, the larger one is hers.
Today I got another tiny blue eggs with a tinge of blood on the shell and more normally shaped, so I think that one of my new spring EEs has started laying, YIPPEE!
They still have teeny pale combs; however, they do try to take the eggs of the big girls now and sit upon them for practice. So cute!
