Has anyone ate Silkie??

I eat them, and sell them to other asians who eat them. Said to have medicinal properities, but in those soups, there are literally 20-30 different herbs and nasty things added that who knows if it was the chicken in the soup or one of the other 25 things in it. Outside of soup, they taste just the same.

I think the variously colored muscles and black bones are so cool.

Serve them on Halloween. Lots of fun seeing reactions and unbelieving comments lol..

It is kind of hard to BBQ or oven bake them though- can't easily tell if they are cooked through or not.

I read an article about Silkies being very popular in fine Chinese restaurants. Also Chinese alternative medicine doctors recommend it to females with infertility problems. It's suppose to have many more vitamins than your standard chickens. Does anyone here eat them?

You often find them defined as 'black skinned chickens' for the gourmet taste buds.

They are very common in Asain grocery meat cases.
