Has anyone bred Pekin and welsh harlequin ducks together??

Pics
And on a seperate issue.... I have 2 ducks that are completely "bow-footed"??? No bow-legged, but what would u call it? Their legs are perfect with spacing & everything, but their feet turn in so bad, they struggle walking & falling. Celeste, from the 1st older, batch and Marley from the younger, 2nd batch. Didnt really notice hers until recently. Took a video. Let me get that on vimeo real quick

I am not disputing the vet but if she has a good appetite I just have a hard time believing she is in pain all the time. Did she mention keeping her on the Meloxicam?
No maam...and I totally should have asked that. 🤦‍♀️, darn it. That's my fault. She didnt even know we have it. It was the other vet that we only saw that once that prescribed it to Max. The only reason I stopped giving it to Joy was because it did a number on her stomach & she would hardly eat.

That's what we both said, looking at her legs and understanding what's going on...... she should be in constant pain. But....since she is eating, it makes it hard to say, it may come & go... hard to tell.

I'd ask about another inflammatory pain med since the Meloxicam wasn't doing right with her. And maybe not give it to her all the time. Can you tell when she's in pain? I am not sure but going off feed to me would be a sure sign. And acting depressed.

You've been giving them the liquid B complex? if so how?
Well for Joy, I drop the liquid on a few crumbles and she eats it that way, eats it right up. For the rest, I've been dropping it in a cup of water (not their big waterer) and mix it up good, holding the cup down to them for them to each get sips out of (I wanted to make sure they actually ended up drinking it.) In their waterer, I empty it so often to give clean fresh water that theres no telling if theyd get it or not.

Are they getting any dried meal worms yet? or peas? that's 2 ways to make sure they are getting it with out it being watered down. Put 1ml over a small amount of either treat. Treat the 2 that have the problems with out the others pigging out and eating it all.

But... I cant get it out of my head tho, that no matter what, even if we are able to somehow fix her legs with surgery, everything else will still be there😔. And when she told me about her being in pain, oh my gosh....the guilt that came over me. She'll be a month old this weekend, so a month of hurting everyday.. like that's all she knows. I feel horrible about that. I wonder how crazy everyone thinks I am, I cried about 5 seperate times there.🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Erin, I'm not going to lie. I've cried so many times for Joy I can't count. We all love her so much! I seriously can't tell you how many times I've let my ducks out in the morning, taken my dogs for a walkout back in all the acreage and thought about Joy and just cried my eyes out. I know you've done miracles with her and I'm so glad about that. You are the best duck mom ever! I really mean that!

that's why I don't like to give in water. I'd rather give on food so that it soaks in and I know they are getting all the benefits of it.
