Ok, my baby girl is in alot of pain. You have to pick her up and lay her down so carefully and then it takes 20-30minutes or more just to find a position that she can handle. Right now, we haven't found one, So I'm still holding her the only way she'l seems to be able to handle. She lays face down on my hand, her belly in my palm, with her legs dangled down between my fingers. Leg is still bruised. She barely ate any breakfast, snack, lunch, etc. Only a few bites each time. Shes drinking like crazy tho, so hence, major diarrhea. This is just awful.

Please seriously consider letting her go if she is in that kind of pain. Have you given her any more pain meds. You have to think what’s best for Joy now. :hugs
I know, I know. I just dont think I can watch her struggle like this anymore. I just dont understand what went wrong. Her legs just werent working properly, but otherwise happy and healthy.
Now, her legs are bent back & hurting her, bruising badly, & her appetite is diminishing, I just need to know it would be right, by her, that there really are no chances of her getting better

I just finished reading this whole thread. I am so sorry DavisDucks about all the trouble little Joy has been having. You have made a Herculean effort to help her. In the video it appears that her hock/ankle joint is bent backwards. I would guess that she was born with slipped tendons- that is like your Achilles’ tendon slipping from around the back of your ankle around the side and eventually sliding to the front reversing the direction your joint faces. These tendons are very strong and will tighten/shorten over time. After this much time has passed I’m afraid it is irreversible. And painful. She will never be able to walk and will injure herself more by trying. I am sorry to be so blunt about this after all you two have gone through. The bruising around the joint is a sign of bleeding. I don’t know how meloxicam is metabolized in ducks but for future reference if you have to give a tiny dose of medication draw up 0.1 cc, fill the 1 cc syringe the rest of the way with 0.9 cc water then you have 10 doses. Repeat this as necessary to get an accurately small dose. Depending on the medication it may not be stable for long once diluted. Only do this with oral medications.
