It is chilly here today. I am wearing a fleece. Tassels summoned the Littles to hide under her fluff. But of course Geronimo needs to keep an eye out for potential mischief.

I don’t understand Geronimo’s thermodynamic control system. Even before I introduced them to Tassels she didn’t sleep under the heat plate. Here she is clearly getting some warmth from Tassels, but unlike the others she never goes completely under.

Glad chickens don’t have teeth! The expense I have with getting my horses’ teeth floated (ground down and levelled surface) is crazy!

At least with a chook one can file down any issues on their own!

Oh and Mr P’s broken beak grew back perfect - just an FYI there.
I forgot about his beak. Amazing.

It is still Thursday and Piglet is drinking her bath water.

I think I may need to deploy broody jail for Piglet and/or Sylvie. I hate to do it but they have been sitting for weeks now.
They do at least get up and eat now and then which Tassels never did.
However, Pooh and Calypso are so over their antics and are now laying their eggs in with Tassels and the Littles.
Sometimes that's what you have to do, for their own good. I had to do that with Spazzy a few times.

What a marvelous photo! 🥰

I'm in shorts and a tank top...lol

That baby is a go getter! I'm loving the adventure! 🥰

I think (@rural mouse will correct me) Geronimo is the Golden Cuckoo Marans. Isn’t she supposed to be a sedate, calm sort of chicken. Not a wild child?
Cookie is also a wild child, but as she is all mixed up breed-wise I guess that is not particularly surprising.
I'm no Marans expert. That's @RebeccaBoyd . What I know about chicken breeds: exceptions abound. Just look at PITA, a white sapphire (leghorn based hatchery breed). Leghorns don't go broody. Tell that to her. She's still raising and tuk-tuk-tukking them.

She might miss something....like the toddler that doesn't want to sleep...

Oh I know Rebecca is the Marans expert - but you identified all my chicks the day I got them and I forgot which was which. Cookie is easy to identify. I am pretty sure Chippy is likely a Speckled Suspect, Bucky probably a Buckeye and that Geronimo is a Golden Cuckoo Marans.
I may have got muddled, but I think that is the line-up.
I guess I will learn soon enough as they grow up!
