has anyone else lost their appetite for eggs?

Ok, after reading the above post, I have to admit if my chickens were eating cow patties, that might change my outlook on things a tad... but I'd probably get over that too, in time.

edited to add (on second thought, pigs eat a lot of nasty stuff too, so between the eggs and the bacon my breakfast is starting to turn my stomach lol, again, best not to think about it)

OMG .. I don't ever think of things like that.

What do shrimp and lobsters eat???
What does the liver do??
What do pigs eat?

I'd be more concerned about the chemicals and hormones in all that grocery store food!!

Funny post anyway ...

I have been boiling up a dozen and a half every few days simply to get them out of my fridge. And eating all of them the same day.

Lose my taste for eggs? Not likely.

or maryland crabs for that matter! LOVE crabs!

I am sure now that I am up to my ears in eggs that I will expand on more ways to use them. I must! hahah. Angel food cake....yum! And a great way to use up some eggs no doubt... 12?! Quiche Lorraine...yum. And pumpkin pie! I do love baking and now that it's cooler out...

eta: I still eat them, but yeah, three scrambled with nothing along with it kinda is too much. Especially after a morning of digging in the dirt for the girls...

You got that RIGHT. I live on Cape Cod where you can't swing a dead [insert name of despised predator here] without hitting an oyster! Yuck!

Try gulping down a big glass of fresh, unpasteurized goat's milk for the first time out of your own herd..

You're like...glug.............glug.......glug...okthatsplenny.

Then for the next hour you're checking your pulse and waiting for your stomach to go in knots from listeriosis or botchulism or something..

Or..hehe..try grilling up a steak from the first deer you've ever killed and home-processed.. Take it out of the ziplock..sniff it...pass it around asking "Hey, does this smell OK to you?" Cut into it and see blood...the same blood you were up to your elbows in the day you took it...resist the urge to cook the TAR out of it, just to be safe.. Take a big bite, knowing that it's not only home-processed, but technically "undercooked"... Can be pretty harrowing, but then you're like...dang...this is TASTY!

I'll tell ya.. Fresh eggs...fresh goats' milk...fresh, home-processed meat...fresh veggies out of the garden. Doesn't get much better, IMHO.

CMJust, that was a very informative graphic description of the life I'd like to live someday....when I get my nerve up.
