Has anyone ever seen a silkie chick this vaulted? SAD UPDATE: HE DIED

It hatched! It is supposed to be a cuckoo silkie. I cant wait to see how it turns out. I will get some pics of it when it dries off and fluffs up.

I have hatched out many of Silkies and the first one that had a vaulted skull, I said how sad it has brain damage! Now I know after hatching a lot more with the vaulted skulls.

Can't wait to see the picture of your chick up and around..

It's cerebral hernia associated with crests. I believe the cranial abnormality is is thought to be a dominant gene closely linked to the Crest locus.
