$200 says it won't work. Mahogany over gold with a diluting color like Lavender just makes for a buff type coloration, so you'll mainly have a bird with an orangey color and some Lavender leaking through, or a bird with a slight red or creamy yellow hint and Lavender coming through.
The best form of pink is likely with getting some mahogany red over white or silver in a Silkie, thus blurring the colors.
As for purple. . . Pretty sure it was said before, but all you need is a black chicken with poor quality feathering. Naturally they should be black with a green sheen, but poor growth can produce purple "bands" of color in the feather instead.

Isabel is lavender diluted buff. Lavender diluted mahogany red should be considerably darker and less orange in hue.
