I saw an advertisement in my recent Backyard Poultry mag. for Verm-X Intestinal Parasite Control Liquid & Pellets for Poultry, Duck & Fowl. 100% Natural Herbal Formula with NO Withdrawal Period for Eggs or Birds and am wondering if anyone has any experience with this product?

Yes and that is why I am interested in it - I like the natural approach more than the chems. Here is more of what it says:

What is Verm-X?

Verm-X is a natural solution for repelling intestinal parasites made up of a blend of herbs, formulations are available for horses, a range of poultry, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, pigs and cows. Verm-X is available in different forms, liquid, powder, daily treats, different sized pellets and nuggets.

What herbs are in Verm-X?

The herbs found in Verm-X and their considered actions are as follows:

Allium sativum - Garlic - For all round health with vermifugal effects.
Ulmus fulva - Slippery Elm - Mild laxative and a detox herb.
Mentha piperita - Peppermint - For gut flora maintenance and digestion.
Thymus vulgaris - Common Thyme - Traditional internal anti-parasitic herb with vermifugal and vermicidal actions.
Galium aperine - Cleavers - Alterative and diuretic with trace minerals.
Cinnamomum zelandicum - Cinnamon - Also vermifugal and vermicidal.

Picrasma excelsa - Quassia - Also vermifugal and vermicidal.

I've been using Verm-X for about a year now. I put the granuals on top of the birds food pellets and they gobble them right down. My girls free range in the back yard a lot and eat lots of bugs and the occassional worm or frog. Verm-X has kept them worm free and doesn't force me to discard the eggs following treatment with chemical wormers. I'm a happy customer of their product.

I've been using the Verm-X liquid for a few months. Its easy to use. You add it to their water. They don't have any problem drinking it. Its just for 3-4 days as their only water source. It says once a month, but I get busy and forget. I've been doing about every other month.
I think its great and there is no withdrawal period.

I started using Verm-X about three years ago when you had to get it from England now you can get it from the USA from Verm-Xusa.com At first I was skeptical at first and did fecal counts for about three months – all were very clean. I now treat all of our livestock (goats, pigs, cows, fowl) and dogs with Verm-X. The bottom line is I would much rather give my animals Verm-X than trust all the off label techniques that I have seen posted on line. For example “a few drops of Ivormec” there is a reason the makers of products like Wazine which the label (on the back) reads “Not for use in chickens producing eggs for human consumption” is it strange that one can wait two weeks and eat the bird but according to Wazine never eat the eggs – I pass on the chemicals and poisons. VERM-X is a terrific product and I for one am thrilled it is in the USA now!
