A superpet rabbit cage as a brooder? I know the one I have is large enough, but I'm worried about a draft. They're being kept inside, but still...

I have one of those too. I usually use binder clips to attach some cardboard to three of the sides at one end where the lamp is hung overhead. Just don't let the lamp come near to the cardboard.

Just know that they will outgrow it quickly so have a larger one ready. Our three chics were only in their 35 gallon tote brooder for a week before we moved them into larger one.

I used a guinea pig cage that looks just like your picture. Worked great for my four peeps for about three weeks. Then I moved them to a big dog crate. That is a 100 watt bulb.

I did and I covered the sides, so it was draft free. I had to move the chicks out in a week and 2-3 days due to them growing so fast. I now have the chicks in an extra large dog kennel. They are much happier in there with the larger space.
