I'm going to Charleston S.C. this week and we want to book a ghost tour. I've always wanted to do this, but something always happens where I can't go. Anyway, has anyone done this and was it any good or lame?

I'll let you know if it was any good next week.

My dad was from Charleston, no I've never been on a ghost tour but I imagine it will be a hoot. Charleston has some big beautiful historic OLD homes. If you get a chance to wander find Orange St. right off the battery, my dad was born in number 8. In 1922 you had your babes at home not in a hospital like we do nowadays. Have fun and take lots of pics.

I've never been to SC. BUT we did go to a haunted plantation in Jamaica when me and my oldest daughter were there. It was so cool. Also, most of my family on my dad's side lives in St. Francisville, LA and that is where the Myrtles is. That is one scary plantation.

I have never gone just because I am such a "chicken" lol...BUT my brother has, we live in Delaware and he went over to Fort Delaware. Itis pretty scarey there. Ghost Hunters went and filmed there..it iwll be airing sometime this summer. They said it was the most they have ever gotten on film. Reason # 9999 that I am not going there...LOL

I went to a candlelight ghost tour at fort Ontario. That was quite the experience.... :|

My friend went to the one in Charleston he said it was so cool. Hope you have a good time.

It depends on what you expect from the tour.

If they are like most "ghost" tours you will go from place to place where they will tellyou the story/history of the building or what was there before the building (i.e. cemetary, battles etc...) and how many people died, then go on to describe the strange feeling the gardner got at midnite, in the rain, on Halloween.

If you expect to see the ghost, don't bet on it. Even seasoned paranormal investigators don't get so lucky.

There are too many people "disturbing the eether" or what ever for the ghosts to manefest themselves during tours. But I'd bet (for a small fee) you could get a personal private tour after hours.

I'm sure they will show you photos of blurry, out of focus dust in the air and call them "spirit orbs". It's just dust illuminated by the flash. Ask them why you NEVER see orbs without the camera flash and see how fast they change the subject!
I've studied 1000's of photos and only two I could not explain by natural phenominon, cigarette smoke or just poor photography.
I've been on lots of investigations and yes, I've gotten spooked. It happens when you try to keep an open mind, then start thinking too much then step into a spider's web. I was screaming like a 10yr old girl flapping around like a mad man.

Enjoy the tour, have fun, just don't expect it to be like Ghostbusters.

I have been on ghost tours in a couple of cities, including Charleston. The good news for you is that the tour in Charleston was easily one of the two best I have been on. It was a lot of fun. As someone posted earlier, you more than likely will not see anything paranormal (although it does happen on some tours, so they say). However, you will hear some very entertaining stories and get a nice little tour of the city. One stop includes a restaurant that is haunted by a dog ghost, so that's a bit unusual. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
