Cackle, I have no idea what's in my incubator.... evil critters that take over your life and use up all your brain power.
I thought I was starting out with barnevelders (5-6 alive), golden penciled hamburgs (6 alive), welsummers (1 dark weird, 5 clear), golden cuckoo marans (1 dark weird, 5 clear). So I think I will have 11-12 hatching and I'm hoping for no exploding eggs.
I'm on day 15 right now. Air space seemed sort of large to me today so I upped the humidity a little.
They are standing up in cut down egg cartons with holes in the bottom and rocking away til Monday. Then I suppose I will lay them on their sides for hatching.
Do you think I should open one of the clears to verify that I am seeing into those darker eggs and if they are all clear, to remove them? How soon should I pull them? now or at day 18? or should I hope for no explosions and let them stay along for the ride.
Happy Chicken Momma, awesome, I am so tempted to get the humidity attachment. Really glad to hear it works well. Where were the cold spots that are identified?
I will have to start over if I want any marans and not worrying about the humidity would be GREAT. Its part of why I bought the advanced model so I could add to my addiction, I mean incubator.
