Has anyone heard of a Barn Builder breed of chicken?

Boy just about everyone jumped in on this. LOL

I think that's what I'll call them now.

Well maybe not. I used to joke around and instead of Officer I would say Ociffer and still catch myself after about 30 years.

I remember reading about Barn Builders. A farmer had a strain that laid really well, and he sold eggs and sold stock and sold them reasonably, making his numbers on volume of sales. He eventually paid off his farm I believe, by selling this strain of birds. Don't remember where (online) I read it. Maybe google it?

x2. I'd love it if my flock got together just for a few days to build themselves a new barn.

Actually, that sounds really interesting, just like there is a tomato called the "Mortgage Lifter" because it supposedly was so productive that it paid off someone's mortgage. I wonder if Barn Builder really what the OP was really hearing from their friend originally, not just a mistaken name.

I tried googling with no luck, though.

OP, come back and tell us if you found out from your friend what he was saying?

I was just at Mill Valley Chickens and she had a Barn Builder Hen. You can look up Leslie and email her. She might be able to give you more information.
