Has anyone heard of this?

That settles it - I am buying my cat a red collar!

He chases my chooks and stresses them out, so I've threatened to let him loose out there with a bunch of grapes tied to his tail to teach him to be afraid of them. The red collar sounds a much better idea! LOL

Hmmmm. How about this: when unwelcome human visitors come calling, invite them to see your chickens, but wear protective footwear, red of course.

Come to think of it, this is probably a good reminder to me when the kids are out in the yard with the chooks since they both own a few red tops each. The kids are age 1 and 2, so I'd hate to see them bowled over and eaten by rampant red-seeking chicken missiles.

I have a pair of pink stripped boots I wear while taking care of the chickens. The wet grass would always stick to the boots and they would peck it off. I noticed this summer it has been too dry and no grass on boots but they still pecked. I thought they were just looking for grass but it must be the color! They rarely bother my feet if I have my brown work boots on!

did a little google search, and yes, attracted to red, thus the color of feeders...to attract them to the food....interesting....
