Has anyone here ever felt so frustrated with the churches around them?

I wish I had something great to tell you. All I can say is be true to yourself. You are not questioning your religion, you are questioning the celebration/gathering of it. The best answer you will find is in the Bible. Set down, read it, cover to cover. It will take awhile. Determine for yourself where you want to be and what you need. Your heart will guide you where you need to be.

As I read all 61 post,it breaks my heart where WE as a Nation have came from and gone to.

first lets deal with the op problem:

Smartie,I understand your problems/feelings as I have a heart for young people as I was addicted to drugs and alcohol at the age of 13 and feel I can relate more to teens as I have "BEEN THERE DONE THAT" and would love the oppertunity to sit and talk or help anyone(especially teens)work out thier problems.
I have seen this before, even in the youth group at our Church.
Bring this scripture to the Pastor at your Chruch and ask him to tell you what it means

James 2:1-6

then ask him if he is seeing this in his group.

Adrian Rogers said"IF YOU FIND THE PERFECT CHURCH JOIN IT,IT WILL NOT BE PERFECT FOR LONG." Meaning there is something wrong everyone and or every Church.

Paul wrote letters to the Church at Corinth concerning the actions of Church members treatment of other Church members chapters 1st Cor.1-6,and yet we still have problems getting along with other Christians(myself included).

Smartie, please continue to search for another youth group,God will deal with the "NON LOVE"(for a lack of a better word) I have

now for some of the posters:
John 8:7 is cominng to mind here

I agree with the "WHERE 2 ARE GATHERED IN MY NAME I AM THERE"
and the "GOD IS EVERYWHERE IN EVERYTHING" statements, however people mistake scripture to fit thier own life styles

Heb 10:25 tells us that we should gather together to help hold each other up or accountable for our Christian walk.

and besides if you cant stand to be with all the Hypocrites in Church what makes you think you would want to spend an eternity in heaven with Hypocrites.

Joe Bryant I'm a little bit concerned by your post, as to your true salvation you say that you've been saved and baptised, yet, you blasphem the Holy Ghost in your writing. Matthew 12:31-32 deals with this..here it is below.
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

As for the one who said that the girl needs to be baptised, what do you mean by that? The theif on the cross, never had the chance/opportunity to be baptised (physically as he was about to die) but Jesus guaranteed him a place beside Him in Heaven, but he was spirutally baptised by Jesus on the cross. Yet, Luke 23:39-43 states that the theif asked forgiveness for the sins that he has commited throughout his life and Jesus said "this day you will be with me in heaven" (paraphrased verse) and he did this all without baptism, and what you are stating is that she isn't truly saved and going to heaven without baptism?

I will only say this about this thread. There have been things said here that make fun of someone else's deeply held belief, verged on mocking, even, and were completely unhelpful to the OP. No matter what you personally feel, please respect the feelings of the OP here so this doesn't get out of hand. Stick to the subject closely, please.

Bible states you must "Confess thy sins, believe unto God, and be baptised by the holy spirit" maybe another too.. I'd have to find the exact scriptures.. Which i can understand it, think about it.. There's a part (new to this so can't list scriptures but will find them if needed) where he said that his holy spirit had not fully fallen upon the people because "I think" they weren't fully submerged in the water to wash away their sins. And the point in baptism is to wash away the sins so that you can be holy (isn't it?) otherwise the sins are still attached basically "again, i think"... Please correct me if im wrong though. "Though either way there is also a point where Aaron (think that was his name) was baptised and saved and after being baptised he saw amazing things or something like that..

As for the man on the cross i'd say it's different, Jesus can do stuff like that, and since the man was on t he cross to be cruxified as well.. Then i don't think there was a chance of them letting him down off the cross to be baptised.

People forget that for thousands of years, the Bible has been written, and re-written to fit the political climbs of the times. I believe there is an ocean of difference between religion and faith.

The aboriginal peoples of Australia have 40,000 years of an uninterrupted culture. They believe that all living things are but a different manifestation of the same life force.

If we could all believe in that, we would have such reverence for this life. And, all the preachers would be teaching that “hatred is not a family value” instead of perpetuating fear and preparation for the end.

Have you ever wonder who the "holy spirit" is?

The woman was made to be invisible by the church in the 3rd century. Mary, who was god’s mother was made invisible. Mary, Mother, Gaia, Nature, Earth…. she is known by thousands and thousands of names. All continents, oceans, and most mountain ranges are all given female names.

yes, a hypocrite is someone who says"DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO"

it does not have anything to do with salvation.
saved people(Christians)sin all the time the Bible tells "OUR RIGHTOUSNESS IS AS FLITHY RAGS IN THE RIGHT OF GOD"(paraphrased)

Thank you for your participation.

The way this thread ended is a perfect illustration of why the BYC Rules discourage religious topics of discussion.

It's very hard for people to find common ground when beliefs close to the heart are so vastly different.
